THE EFFICACY OF PRAYER (13)

“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer carries all of God in him by virtue of having Christ in him.

We got into examining the fact that there is power in the believer and this power in the believer is what powers or empowers answers to his prayers. Meaning, God put your prayer answer in your prayer power. There is power in the believer in Christ (Ephesians 3:20 affirms this). There is power at work in the believer; and like we said in earlier study that was the power that brought about the new creation. The new creation is a creation of this power. That power never ceases to operate in the life of the believer; it is only the believer that can cease to put this power to work in his life by living in prayerlessness. Not praying as a believer is not making power available as a believer. A prayerless Christian will not live in the power of God as a prayerful Christian.

Remember, we were not half saved in the New Birth; we are complete in Christ, the head of principalities and powers. Colossians 2:9-10 “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him which is the head of all principality and power”. The rendition of Colossians 2:9-10 by The Passion Translation shades more light, it reads “For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the head of every kingdom and authority in the universe”. We are completely filled with God, by virtue of the fact that Christ’s fullness overflows within us. Why will you understand this and be looking into the sky for the answers to your prayers to fall down, when you pray, you pray answers. Glory!

INSTRUCTION:You are complete in Christ, acknowledge this!

CONFESSION: I am enlightened more and more, as I keep studying, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: All of God dwells in the believer because all of Christ dwells in the believer.
