“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20
LIGHT FOR NOW: There is power that is at work in every believer in Christ – this power answers to their prayers.
We’ve unbundled the myth called “unanswered prayers”. So, when a believer prays, he prays answers. If efficacy or potency deals with power, strength, ability and capacity, the question to ask is: Is there power in the believer? The answer is an absolute Yes! It thus follows that in unfolding the efficacy of prayer, there is need for us to examine the power in the believer. There is power in the believer in Christ. Paul alludes in his word in Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”. Notice, “According to the power at work in us”. He did not say “according to the power at work in pastors only”. He did not say “according to the power that only works when you go to prayer houses”; he said the power is at work in us; all believers. So, no believer is deficient of God’s power, every believer is sufficient of God’s power. No believer has a power problem, every believer has the power of God residing in them.
All the power the believer will ever need in his Christian adventure has been given to him upon salvation. God has no other power elsewhere to give you outside salvation. The believer will never be more powerful than the day he got saved. All of God’s power entered him at new birth, so power is not his problem. Praying for God to give you power or more power is a display of ignorance. How can you be carrying all of God’s power and be asking for more power, where will he get it from? You have within you the power that effects answers to your prayers. You are God’s power house. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stop asking for what you have, start making use of what you have.
CONFESSION: I acknowledge that I am the power house of God, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: The believer is not deficient of power, he is sufficient of power.
