PRAY!

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” – Luke 21:36

LIGHT FOR NOW: Prayers is always valid for believers, there is no point where prayer becomes invalid.

Notice Jesus’ words or instruction to his disciples about prayers; he says “Pray always”. How often should a believer pray? Always! Listen to Paul’s instruction about prayer in Romans 12:12, it reads “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer”. The phrase “continuing instant” means to be constantly diligent. Thus, the believer must be diligent in prayer. Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”. Paul said to pray always, making known your desires and requests to the Lord. Colossians 4:2 “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving”. Payer should be your lifestyle; it should be daily because it is a necessity. Jesus like we’ve seen in this study so far had this lifestyle, and his disciples followed after the same lifestyle, even after his resurrection and ascension.

Acts 1:12-14 “Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey. And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren”. Acts 2:42 “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers”. Prayer was their lifestyle, it was constant. There is no point where prayer becomes invalid. There is no point where prayer becomes unimportant. Prayer is constant for believers. And the one who is effective in prayers is the one that prays, not the one that has packed all the knowledge about prayer but is not praying. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Pray!

PRAYER: I declare that I burn in zeal and passion for prayers now more than ever, in Jesus Name, Amen.
