PRAYING FOR CHRISTIAN MEETINGS (1)

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” – Hebrews 10:24-25

LIGHT FOR NOW: Praying for Christian meeting is another integral part of the prayer lifestyle.

The assembly or gathering of believers is very vital. It is in fact the primary place for believers to receive knowledge in God’s word. Having seen what and how to pray for believers (fellow believers) and ministers of the gospel, it is also equally important that we pray concerning the gathering of these men. It is important to note that planning and strategies can never replace prayer, as much as the organizing of meetings might involve planning. It is therefore paramount for Christian meetings to be prayed for. However, we need to know what to pray for. Firstly, we don’t pray for the presence of God to be in the service. Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them”.

Two or three gathered in his name are believers, and based on that fact he is there. Believers don’t ask for God’s presence to come down into the service, believers are custodians of God’s presence. They came into the service or meetings with God’s presence because God’s presence resides in them. They are the temple of God, which means, the house of God. You can’t be carrying God around inside of you, and then upon coming to a Christian meeting, you are inviting God’s presence, it doesn’t make sense. 1Corinthians 3:16 “Know yet not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?” Matthew 18:20 can happen because the spirit of God already dwells in the believers, all we need to do is gather. 1Corinthians 14:26 “How is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying”. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Pray for Christian gatherings on meetings.

CONFESSION: I declare that the eyes of my understanding are enlightened more and more, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Believers don’t invite God’s presence into their midst, they came with God’s presence into their midst because they are they carries of the presence of God.
