“I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believers’ utmost and greatest need after salvation is the knowledge of his salvation.
After salvation, knowledge or the knowledge of salvation is a necessity. Hence, the need for knowledge for a believer cannot be overemphasized. If the Christian life or the Christian faith is a car, knowledge is the fuel that will drive the car. No one can be active and effective in this Christian faith outside knowledge. Our God is a God of knowledge and Christianity is a knowledge based faith. When you are deficient of the knowledge of Christ, you can’t be efficient in your Christian endeavour. When you are less of the knowledge of Christianity, you can’t be fully equipped in the Christian faith. In essence, the equipping and complete furnishing of a believer in the Christian faith is in knowledge. Knowledge is not one of the needs of believers after salvation; knowledge is the major need of believers after salvation. We pray for the insights of fellow believers, not for power because the power is at work in everyone that believes. Hence, the believer doesn’t have a power problem, he can only have a knowledge problem; the knowledge of the power resident and at work inside of him.
Listen to Paul in Ephesians 3:16-20 “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”. The power is at work in us. We have the power, so we don’t pray to have what is already ours. We can only pray to come to the full knowledge of what we have. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Keep maintaining the prayer life.
CONFESSION: I declare that I am consistent and constant in my prayer, in Jesus Name, Amen
