LIGHT FOR NOW: Human wisdom can never be compared to the Gospel of Christ.
The focal point of Christianity is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christianity offers the best news of all time! This same gospel also known as the “goodnews” stands as the only solutions to our most pressing problems, challenges or crises. There is absolutely no therapy, political party or amount of education that is able to address the deepest problems of the human race.
Though human wisdom has brought some temporary benefits to us, it can never be compared to the gospel of Christ. It is revealed in the gospel that God came in human form and He won the victory for us. The gospel is called the goodnews precisely because it is not about we have or what we can do, but what God has done and has made available for all who believe. To understand this message of the gospel and what it can do for us, we must first of all understand the nature and the character of God.
The Bible teaches us that the God we serve exists as a trinity; Father, son and the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4 authenticates this trinity, it reads “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD”. Also, the trinity should not be seen as three different persons or being, rather they are one. As recorded in John 10:30-33, they share the same divine essence and qualities.
It is clearly stated in the bible that God is love and that love which is preached as the gospel goes beyond an emotion or attitude; love is God’s nature and attribute. It is the very character of God. God not only loves, rather he is love personified. Associated with the love of God is the mercy, benevolence, patience, grace, redemption, forgiveness of sins and justification. This is the very essence of the gospel and it is a permanent cure to man’s problem. Glory!
