“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” – Romans 10:9-11
LIGHT FOR NOW: Receiving forgiveness in the voice of faith in what Christ has done.
We have seen clearly that forgiveness of sins is a message and thus it is preached, and not prayed. Forgiveness of sins is the message of Christ. So faith in Christ equals forgiveness of sins. When Jesus became our substitute on the cross, he died our death and when he risem he made forgiveness of sins available. So forgiveness is what Christ has done, and thus our confession will be what Christ has done, and not what we’ve done. At the point of salvation, you confess what Christ has done. It is not the confession of individual sins at the point of salvation that forgives sins, neither is forgiveness of sins received daily by confessing sins, but it is recorded by confessing Christ who was your perfect substitute for sins.
Faith in Christ imparts forgiveness of sins; hence forgiveness of sins is a message. The word “confess” in verse 9 of the above text which is “homologeo” in Greek implies to consent to a message, to acknowledge it. The believer is forgiven based on what Jesus did. The believer in Christ did not confess sin to be saved and therefore will not confess sin to stay saved because the saviour who saved you is able to save you to the uttermost. Glory!!!

CONFESSION: Thank you Lord for what you’ve made available for me in Christ; I declare that I am the forgiven, I am saved and therefore, I live in the consciousness of this forever, in Jesus Name, Amen
