“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of principality and power” – Colossians 2:10
LIGHT FOR NOW: You are the temple of the living God; He lives and walks in you.
Paul continues a thought he began in verse 9 of Colossians 2. The “whole fullness of deity” dwells in Jesus, meaning He is both entirely man and entirely God. Paul now links that “filling” to the way Christ relates to Christian believers. Jesus serves as the connection between the believer and God the father. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). The Colossian believers have been filled with the knowledge of his will (Colossians 1:9). Paul also re-emphasizes the supremacy of Jesus. Christ had authority to forgive sins (Matthew 9:6), to heal, and to cast out demons. All authority on heaven and earth has been given to Him (Matthew 28:18). All human authority has been appointed by God and is under his jurisdiction (Romans 13:1-2).
Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:21 that Christ is “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come”. As a believer in Christ, you have received in all fullness, everything that’s of deity in Christ Jesus. This is not just in measure, but also in the quality of life available in Him. You have received whatever makes God to be God. You have all of His glory, might, strength and wisdom. You represent everything that God represents. You have been made an associate of the God-kind. No wonder Apostle John in 1John 4:17 says “As he is, so are we in this world”. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Be conscious that you are complete in Christ.
CONFESSION: Father, I thank you for making me a carrier and dispenser of your glory, wisdom and might, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Christ in you is the fullness of life.
