YOU CAN’T LOOSE ETERNAL LIFE

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand” – John 10:28-29

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are saved once and forever.

The word “eternal life” which is “aionios zoe” in the Greek means:

• Life is absolute
• Life that is complete
• Life that cannot be changed
• Life that cannot be lost
• Life that came from God himself

This shows that eternal life once received cannot be nullified or undone. It is a life that cannot be lost, so you can’t be thinking of losing eternal life as a believer. Let’s examine what the scriptures say occurs at salvation and what losing salvation would entail:

• The believer is a new creation. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old has gone, the new has come!” (2Corinthians 5:17 NKJV). The believer is not simply an improved version of a person; the believer is an entirely new creature. He is in Christ. For the believer to lose salvation, the new creation would have to be destroyed.
• The believer is redeemed. “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defeat” (1Peter 1:18-19). The word redeemed refers to a purchase being made, a price being paid. We were purchased at the cost of Christ’s death. God Himself would have to revoke His purchase of the individual for whom He paid with the precious blood of Christ.

Salvation is eternal. Eternal life once received cannot be lost. Eternal life is a forever life; it is everlasting life. Eternal is timeless so this eternal life is not for a certain period of time. The believer is saved to the uttermost. The word “uttermost” means forever. The believer has eternal life eternally. You are eternally saved. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: You have eternal life eternally. Acknowledge this!
