LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer operates under the influence, the office and the authority of the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is ours today.
Ephesians 1:19-21 in the Passion Translation reads “I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of the immense power as it works through you! This is the mighty power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honour and supreme authority in the heavenly realm! And now he is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is every name that is ever praised, not only in this age; but in the age that is coming!” notice in verse 21, “He (Jesus) is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised”. His name is gloriously enthroned above every or any other name.
Paul says in Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father”. That’s the name; it is an office, influence and authority. At that name, every knee bows; demons and devils bows; principalities and powers give way to that name. In other words, the reason for that name is for the believer. It is not Jesus that will use that name; it is you that will use the name. In essence, the name of Jesus belongs to the believer. We’ve been given his name, that is, his office, influence and authority of Jesus at new birth. When we address demons and devils, we speak in the stead of Jesus or we speak as Jesus.
- The name of Jesus is ours today.
- The accomplishment of Jesus is ours today.
- The office of Jesus is ours today.
- The authority of Jesus is ours today.
We operate under that influence, office and authority. That’s why we reign over devils. We don’t run away from demons and devils; demons and devils run away from us. We are in authority. Glory!!!
INSTRUCTION: You are in authority, use it!
CONFESSION: I declare that I am in authority, therefore, I issue out commands over circumstances, demons and devils and it stands, in Jesus Name. Amen.
