IDENTITY DISCOVERY; THE CURE TO IDENTITY CRISIS (26)

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, – Ephesians 1:15-19

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believers’ foundation is a person or is in a person and that is Christ Jesus.

We’ve come to see in the course of our studies on this subject that upon salvation, the born again man is one generation away; he and Christ. Christ is his foundation and thus, this salvation can’t be faulty; to say you want to break the foundation of the man in Christ is to say you want to break Christ and how can you break Christ? Recall Isaiah in prophecy (Isaiah 28:16) says this foundation is sure, it’s a sure foundation, Jesus is that foundation, he is that stone. The Amplified rendering of Isaiah 28:16 makes it clearer, it reads “Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not [a]be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic]”. The Amplified rendering already makes it clear that the stone is a person and that person is the Christ. And the fulfillment in 1Peter 2:4-6 echoes this fact that Jesus is the foundation; he is the chief corner stone. And that’s why as we saw in previous studies, Paul in 1Corinthians 3:11 calls Christ the foundation. That said observe Ephesians 2:19-22 in this same line of thoughts, it reads “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit”. Again, the same truth is implied here; so at the point of salvation, Christ became your genealogy and foundation and so generational curses from your natural generation does not in any way apply to you at all.

So now, the big question we are going to handle in our proceeding studies is, what about Exodus 20:5? How come Moses said “God will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children even into the third and the fourth generation?” Wasn’t this about a general curse? This will be answered in our next studies.

INSTRUCTION: Your foundation is sure, acknowledge this.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the privilege of belonging in the household of faith where my foundation is sure and not faulty because Jesus Himself is the chief corner stone, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: At new birth, you became a member of the household of God.
