IDENTITY DISCOVERY; THE CURE TO IDENTITY CRISIS (17)

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, – Ephesians 1:15-19

LIGHT FOR NOW: The man born of the word is born anew.

It suffices us to say from the analysis done so far that being birthed to the person of Jesus is being birthed by the ever living and lasting word of God because Jesus is God’s word living, moving, walking, talking or God’s word personified. But to know the person of the word (Jesus), you cannot ignore the writings (the bible). So, God’s thoughts, plan, reason, intent (that is, Jesus) has been clothed in vocabulary (that is, the bible). That means, any attempt to find God, Jesus, the born again man outside the written word will definitely lead to error. So being born by the ever living and lasting word of God is being birthed by Jesus Christ. Now, let’s backtrack to 1Peter 1:23 and begin to examine the impact of the word “born again”; it reads, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever”. The word “born again” used here by Peter is the word “anagennao” in the Greek. Now, before we observe this word “born again” carefully, it is important to note firstly that when the bible says “born again”, it does not mean born the second time; that is, it does not imply a second birth. In other words, the implication of that word “again” in the term “born again” is not number (that is, like saying to be born the second time) but rather, a spiritual truth or reality. When Peter uses the word “anagennao” (born again), what he meant was being born anew and not being born twice. In other words, by saying “born anew”, this differentiates this birth from the physical birth in the natural which is a function of a natural procreation or generation. Meaning, this birth is a different birth from a natural birth, it is a spiritual truth. Again, this buttresses the fact that the born again man is not a product of a natural generation; hence, to trace this man back to generational problems/issues of his father’s house (in the natural) is out of place totally, because this man by virtue of the new birth has a new genealogy.

INSTRUCTION: Subject experiences to God’s word and not God’s word to experiences.

QUOTE: Experiences should be subjected to God’s word and not God’s word to experiences.
