IDENTITY DISCOVERY; THE CURE TO IDENTITY CRISIS (14)

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, – Ephesians 1:15-19

LIGHT FOR NOW: The scriptures testify of a person.

We came to deduce from our previous studies that the reason for the written word (the bible) is the living word (Jesus Christ). So I cannot know Jesus outside my bible. If I must know Jesus, I must read my bible because all of God’s revelation in Christ has been put into writing in a written document called the bible. God’s plan, idea, reasoning or intent which is Christ Jesus can only be known in this written document called the bible. So it will take the written word to know the living word, but it will take the living word to verify the correctness of the written word. What was written was written to be read, but what is to be read must be read in the eyes of Christ because this will be my litmus test to know what is written that is form God and what is written that is a product of men’s assumption about God. So, the litmus test to proper bibliology is Christology. That is why the scriptures have a central message which is Christ Jesus. No wonder Jesus echoes in John 5:39 which reads Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me”. So, the scriptures are a testimony of Jesus; it testifies of him. So the message in the book (called the bible) is a person. That’s why Jesus upon His resurrection explains to His disciples that the words of the prophets were concerning His sufferings and glory that followed, it reads, “Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:25-27). So the sufferings of Christ and the glory that followed was the focus of the prophecies of the prophets. This is why Jesus is called the logos; we explain God perfectly through Him and He is the subject matter of the bible. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Don’t miss out of the Christology of scriptures if you must get the theology of scriptures properly.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for bringing me to a place of clarity through the study of your word, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: In the “rhema” of the prophets, Jesus the “logos” is the logic of those utterances.
